SeaEagle 5 - Sailing Charters and Holidays
 SeaEagle 5

The waterways of Southern Tasmania, including the Derwent River, Norfolk and Frederick Henry Bays and D'Entrecasteaux Channel were once the highways of Tasmania, rich in the history of whalers, settlers and convicts.  Join us on a journey once taken by many, now by only a lucky few.

We point out features and places of interest and expliain a little of Tasmania's history according to the interests and enquiries of our passengers.
Our low passenger numbers ensure our cruises are quite personal, and our guests have told us they don't feel as though they have just been on a bus trip!

You are welcome to sit back and relax with a freshly brewed coffee or a glass of wine, but if you prefer you can take a turn at the helm and help with sailing the boat.

A Day on the Bay

January 8th 2011- late April

Depart 9am from Taranna Jetty (Tasman Peninsular). Return approx. 4pm.

Take a break from driving and busy itineries as SeaEagle 5 and her crew take you on a journey once taken by all who came to the Tasman Peninsular, but now by only a few.

Our full day sail in the wake of the early settlers will take you quietly along the foreshores of beautiful Norfolk Bay, named by Mathew Flinders. We will sail past Cascades, Impression Bay, Premaydena and Saltwater River to the historic coalmines at Plunkett Point, and hear how these outstations helped shape the early days of the colony.

At the coalmines, we will take you ashore in our tender so you can explore the ruins, or you can just relax on board enjoying the peaceful scenery with a glass of wine. You may prefer to use our kayaks to explore the sheltered shoreline; if so, bring your togs and a towel!

Lunch will be enjoyed at anchor in a quiet bay before sailing back to Taranna with afternoon tea served along the way.

See, taste and experience a different view of Tasmania!
